Our colleague -Carmen Campaña- along with her teammate -Juan Ernesto Medina- is participating this week in the Andalucía Bike Race.
This event is the most important mountain bike event held in Spain, a classic on the international mountain bike calendar and within the UCI.
The test consists of 6 circular stages starting and entering the same town, carried out between the Andalusian provinces from Monday to Wednesday in Jaén and from Thursday to Saturday in Córdoba.
On Monday, May 17, the first stage took place, being the shortest of all, the only time trial of the test with 24.55 kilometers. The harsh terrain made it a very attractive stage.
The second stage of the test on Tuesday 18 took place in the southern mountains of Jaén, the highlight of this route are the two climbs and the pure mountain bike trails. the distance of this stage was 64 kilometers.
On Wednesday the last stage took place in Jaén, very physically demanding with several ascents, one of them at 1500 unevenness and with 71 kilometers.
The test reaches Cordovan lands in stage 4 with a duration of 64 km. highlighting its hardness and the ascent to the stream of the gypsy.
On Friday comes the longest stage of the test with 92 km. With the ascent to the mythical El Reventón, it is a tough climb but once at the top the best of Sierra Morena begins with many downhill trails with pure mountain bike essence.
The last stage on Saturday, a quiet stage without major ascents and descents but for fun with a duration of 48 km.
